The initial idea

They initially came to us with the idea to create a landing page to provide information about slow fashion, what are the benefits and advantages and at the same time to collect information and obtain lead generation to have people that could become advocates of the movement.

Their top of their mind of how to gain volunteers, came from the politians campaigns made in the United States like Alessandra Ocasio which very fast became our first challenge since they did not want a political intake in the mini website; they wanted to inform people about this new idea coming to the fashion world and gain volunteers for the next steps of the campaign.

They also wanted the strategy team to be on board to help them gain volunteers. The idea was to talk with a few influencers to become part of  the project and be featured in the landing page.

Research & Exploration

What came first was an exploration of what was in the market nowadays, how the leading generation was working in landing pages and also the examples that the client gave us that found interesting. In order to know what were the main components in a landing page like this one, an analisis of ten different websites was made, with all the components and then what were the ones that were highlighted in most of them.

What we found was that:

  • 1. A lot of them had a campaign phrase
  • 2. A profile description of what was really the aim of the landin during the first scroll
  • 3. Reasons to support the cause they were explaining and also the why’s to become a volunteer.
  • 4. They gave more than just one way to volunteer
  • 5. The sign up button was always present during most of the scrolls
  • 6. There was a donating section

From this the project leader talked with the client and asked for the information that they wanted to display in the mini website. In the meantime, I worked on the wireframes and in a good way to display the information. But at the end everything depended also from the client and the amount of information that they wanted to have. That was definetly the second challenge during the whole creation of this project since the information continuously changed.

Wireframes & final proposal

Eventually the information arrived and we started to make a few explorations of how we wanted the visual to be for the landing page, first we went for a more fashionable approach but pretty quickly we noticed it was not the right one since Oikos wanted to make it a more delicate and environmental issue. So we did a lot of exploration with images and at the end OIKOS decided a very direct path that involved more the idea of protest and change. Even the colors they mentioned to want something more radical and less involved with Oikos and more involved with the environmental change. Ending up in this final result. We also made the flow for the user to become a potential volunteer.
